BTL Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit

BTL Aesthetics

BTL Aesthetics, a manufacturer of noninvasive technologies for body shaping, has filed a lawsuit against Allergan and Zimmer MedizinSysteme. The lawsuit asserts that the Cooltone device, manufactured by Zimmer for Allergan, infringes on BTL’s United States patents. The lawsuit further asserts that Allergan’s Coolsculpting, when used before or after the Cooltone therapy, infringes on BTL’s United States patent for the therapeutic application of the two technologies.

Long-Term Data on Vanquish Noninvasive Fat Reduction Treatments

Vanquish Offers Long-term Circumference Reduction

BTL Aesthetics has released long-term data on patients who underwent treatment with the company’s noninvasive, radiofrequency energy-based Vanquish device for body contouring. Thirteen individuals who were part of a one-month follow-up study published in the Journal of Drugs and Dermatology came back four years later to determine if their circumference reductions had sustained long-term. The patients preserved an average 75.2% of the original body contouring effect four years post treatment.

Next-Generation BTL Vanquish ME for Fat Reduction

A study published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology (December 2016) found that the BTL Vanquish ME (Maximum Energy) from BTL Aesthetics was effectively redesigned for more efficient and homogenous energy delivery to targeted tissue, reducing 53% more fat versus the BTL Vanquish. The BTL Vanquish ME, which debuted in 2015, is FDA-cleared for the circumferential reduction of the abdomen and thighs.

BTL Vanquish Cleared for Nonsurgical Abdomen Reduction

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the BTL Vanquish (BTL Industries) device for circumferential reduction of the abdomen area. The platform features a panel array that emits selective RF energy with the largest spot size in the industry to treat the entire core in one application (without touching patients’ skin). It creates a high-frequency energy field that targets the thermal effects into the fat layer while protecting surrounding skin tissue.

Exilis ELITE FDA-Approved for Cellulite Reduction

Exilis ELITE FDA-Approved for Cellulite Reduction

The Exilis ELITE, a radiofrequency (RF)-based, skin-tightening platform, has been granted FDA approval for temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite.

The monopolar focused RF device, which is engineered with advanced cooling, heats the dermis, causing collagen support tissues to remodel, tighten and firm. Using a new protocol to treat areas with underlying fat deposits, the device has also shown temporary improvements in the appearance of cellulite.
