A recent NewBeauty survey revealed key challenges that medical weight loss patients experience with muscle maintenance and facial aesthetics, according to a Nov. 13 press release. BTL Aesthetics is raising awareness of the data, revealing patients are not taking proactive steps to preserve muscle tone and a youthful appearance after rapid weight loss resulting from use of treatments such as Ozempic.
The survey, conducted among nearly 2,000 U.S. consumers via SMS, revealed that 88.4% of people understand that rapid weight loss can result in muscle loss, while 33.1% say they take no action to maintain muscle mass, and 68% report difficulty building muscle as they age, regardless of use of weight loss medications or procedures.
The survey, outlining the risks and challenges associated with weight loss aesthetics, shows that while people understand the impact weight loss has on muscle tone and appearance, many are uncertain of how to maintain healthy, lasting results.
BTL Aesthetics has presented the data to highlight the consumer need for non-invasive treatments to address weight-loss challenges. For instance, the company’s Emface is designed to tone facial muscles to restore a natural, youthful appearance–without injectables–while Exion leverages advanced radiofrequency technology to tighten skin and enhance texture.
