Demand for noninvasive and nonsurgical aesthetic treatments in plastic surgery practices continues to grow, according to the results of the 2018 American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) member survey. The top 5 nonsurgical procedures for 2018 were:

  • Botulinum Toxin with 1,801,033 procedures performed (up 16% from 2017)
  • Hyaluronic Acid fillers with 810,240 procedures performed (up 12% from 2017)
  • Nonsurgical Fat Reduction with 174,244 procedures performed (down 4% since 2017)
  • Photo Rejuvenation (IPL) with 135,624 procedures performed (up 20% since 2017)
  • Chemical Peels with 129,596 procedures performed (up 9% since 2017)

The top 5 surgical procedures performed by board certified plastic surgeons in the U.S. in 2018 were:

  • Breast Augmentation with Silicone Implants (329,914 procedures performed)
  • Liposuction (289,261 procedures performed)
  • Breast Lifts (158,964 procedures performed)
  • Tummy Tucks (157.492 procedures performed)
  • Blepharoplasty (115,508 procedures performed)
