On July 1, 2025, dsm-firmenich announced the appointment of Jonathan Simon as the president of its fine fragrance business. Simon will succeed Jerry Vittoria, who will retire from the company after 35 years of service.
Simon is currently the vice president of the Procter & Gamble account for dsm-firmenich. He joined the company in 2020 and has been the global leader for the P&G account since 2024. Before joining dsm-firmenich, Simon spent 12 years with L’Oréal, working with brands such as Lancôme, Viktor & Rolf and Cacharel. His experience covers both the fine fragrance and personal care categories, and he has worked in global roles in several different geographies.
According to the company’s press release, the transition between Simon and Vittoria will take place over the next year, allowing for a “well-structured and orchestrated” transition.
“It is the perfect moment for us to make the move and prepare for the future,” said Emmanuel Butstraen, chief operating officer and president of perfumery and beauty at dsm-firmenich. “We want to warmly thank Jerry for his outstanding contributions to our fine fragrance business over the last decade, skillfully navigating the evolution and changes, while at the same time growing our business significantly. Jonathan will propel our fine fragrance business into a new era, establish our leadership and continue our transformation driven by innovation and sustainability. His strong sense of luxury, passion for the product and obsession for our customers will truly make a difference.”
