Guidepoint Qsight’s Midyear Briefing: Medical Aesthetics Industry Shows New Highs in Patient Spend

On September 24, 2026, healthcare data and intelligence provider Guidepoint Qsight released its Midyear Briefing: Medical Aesthetics  Industry Shows New Highs in Patient Spend. 

The comprehensive update, based on Guidepoint Qsight’s proprietary transaction data, lays out the state of the medical aesthetic industry as of H1 2026 across  categories, visit frequency, shifting demographics, and more.

The report details major the shifts and trends across the medical aesthetics industry, including: 

- The state of patient loyalty and retention, and what is driving it 

- The quiet rise of wellness offerings in relation to patient retention 

- GLP-1 spend updates in terms of adoption, continuance, demographics, and regulation - Patient behaviors, including gender and generational breakouts of usage across categories - Emerging segments, including HRT, wellness, and regenerative aesthetics

  • GLP-1 spending has leveled out, but still attracts 32% of new male patients
  • Neurotoxins still top entry point, accounting for 35% of new patients
  • Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and neurotoxins have highest repeat purchase rates
  • Plastic Surgery and Skin Rejuvenation Spend Up 13%; Neurotoxins Up 5%
  • Weight Loss & Dietary Lifestyle Down 12%; Dermal Fillers Down 3%
  • Gen X drives the largest share of spend in several wellness categories
  • Regenerative aesthetics (polynucleotides, exosome therapies) spend is rising steadily
