Sensient's Color Business Continues to Shine as Flavors Build Momentum

Sensient Technologies delivered broad-based growth in the second quarter of 2026, with its Color business maintaining double-digit momentum while Flavors & Extracts accelerated on higher pricing and volume, reinforcing the company's confidence in its full-year outlook.

Second-quarter revenue increased 10.8% to $447.4 million, while local currency revenue rose 6.8%. Adjusted operating income climbed 12.6% and adjusted earnings per share increased 13.8% to $1.07, reflecting improved profitability across all three business segments.

The Color Group remained the standout performer, with revenue rising 16.4% (10.9% in local currency) to $202.9 million. Segment operating income jumped 20.1% to $43.7 million, driven by strong volume growth and higher pricing. The results highlight continued demand for Sensient's natural and specialty color portfolio as food, beverage and consumer product manufacturers continue reformulating products and responding to evolving regulatory and consumer preferences.

Meanwhile, the Flavors & Extracts Group continued to gain traction. Revenue increased 7.3% to $209.6 million, or 4.1% in local currency, while segment operating income rose 8.3% to $29.2 million. Sensient's Asia Pacific Group also contributed to the strong quarter, with revenue growing 6.9% (3.3% in local currency) and operating income increasing 11.5%, reflecting continued expansion across regional markets.

For the first six months of 2026, Sensient reported revenue of $883.2 million, up 10.9%, while adjusted operating income increased 13.8% and adjusted EPS rose 16.3% to $2.11. The company also raised its 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to $3.85–$4.00, citing continued execution and sustained opportunities, particularly within its Color business.

"Our teams continue to execute well, and our investments in innovation and capacity are translating into profitable growth," chairman, president and CEO Paul Manning said, noting that Sensient remains well positioned to capitalize on long-term opportunities, especially in natural colors.
