The formulations provide a regenerative effect by reportedly strengthening skin interconnection at every layer for "firm, plump skin that radiates from within."

The highly concentrated Pitera is developed via a condensing process that is said to involve no direct application of heat to preserve the material's key benefits.

The material, which interconnects the skin, per the brand, is paired with gold silk sericin derived from rare silkworms. A 2015 study in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science found that a complex of gold silk sericin, niacinamide and signaline improved stratum corneum hydration, barrier function, elasticity and surface topography.

The range comprises:

  • The quick-melting SK-II LXP Cream, featuring "8x Pitera power" and gold silk sericin.
  • The SK-II LXP Essence, designed to penetrate deeply and leave the skin feeling silky smooth.
  • The SK-II LXP Serum, designed to impart "firm, plump skin with inner radiance in just one application," per the brand.
  • The SK-II LXP Eye Cream, featuring Pitera, gold silk sericin and chrysanthemum extract to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and boost radiance, firmness, plumpness, translucency and silky smoothness.
