Injectable skin boosters, such SKINVIVE by JUVEDERM and Profhilo by IBSA Derma, are injectables designed to improve skin quality, texture, elasticity, hydration and overall appearance. While many utlilize HA to increase hydration in the skin and improve skin texture, others include additional ingredients designed to improve skin health.
“Skin boosters are a big and growing category of injectables, focussed at using different ingredients to boost collagen and elastin production and hydration within the skin,” Dr. Sophie Shotter, founder of Illuminate Skin Clinic and named “Top Injector” by Vogue, Tatler and Haper’s Bazaar, explained in an interview with Forbes. “Skin boosters mean that whatever you are trying to rejuvenate the skin with is actually injected within it, rather than being applied to the surface. This means you know for sure you’re getting the ingredients to where they need to be to give maximal effect.”
Unlike other facial injectables, such as dermal fillers, that enhance and augment the treatment area, injectable skin boosters are designed to improve skin quality by smoothing the skin and increasing hydration. Do you utilize injectable skin boosters in your medspa or practice, and if not, are you interested in learning more about this latest addition to injectable treatments?
