Laguna Beach Aesthetic Physician Debuts SKINformed, a Physician-Led Skincare Line

Aesthetic physician Adrienne O'Connell, DO has launched a skin care brand, SKINformed Skincare, born from and inspired by patient care at her practice, Laguna Beach Aesthetics in California. 

"As a physician who performs every treatment personally at my practice, I know what truly works. I wanted to create skincare that reflects the same standards I hold in my medical practice: science-driven, safe and deeply effective," said O'Connell. 

Now available online, the new product line includes a Age-Defying Starter Set consisting of three products: a neck and décolletage cream, papaya gentle cleaner and the age defying serum. Designed to improve skin texture, tone and visible signs of aging, the blend stimulates sollagen production, improves hydration, enhances the skin's barrier and promotes cellular renewal, according to a Jan. 20 press release.

Within this line, bought together as a set, the ingredients include SKINformed Peptide Blend and a bioactive complex called Cellfie, working to protect the skin’s microbiome, reduce visible stress and restore a calm, even complexion. The Saccharide Isomerate listed is a plant-derived carbohydrate complex that mimics the skin’s natural carbohydrates in the stratum corneum, helping to strengthen the moisture barrier. The vegan formula also contains fruit enzymes.

O’Connell has training spanning both clinical medicine and aesthetics. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed residency training in combined Family and Emergency Medicine. She later specialized in cosmetic dermatology and is board-certified by the American Board of Aesthetic Medicine.
