The 8th Annual Daytime Beauty Awards (DBAs) took place on Wednesday, September 9th at Grand Venue in Los Angeles.
A sister show to the Hollywood Beauty Awards, the DBAs celebrate the science behind beauty, health, and wellness, spotlighting professionals in medicine, health and fitness, aesthetics, skincare, color & styling, CBD & cannabis, beauty innovation, and more.
This year’s show benefits their equine friends at historic Mounted Platoon (501c3).

Among this year's honorees are Emmy-winning host Montel Williams, receiving The Zen Award; Amanda Kloots, receiving Outstanding Achievement in Fitness; Kara Mayer Robinson, receiving Outstanding Achievement in Health; Dr. David Amron, receiving Outstanding Achievement in Medicine; and aesthetician Biba de Sousa, receiving Outstanding Achievement in Aesthetics.
For the aesthetics industry, one of the evening's most notable recognitions will go to Cynosure Lutronic's XERF, which will receive The Inventor's Award. Chris Aronson, president of North America for Cynosure Lutronic, will accept the award on the company's behalf.
XERF Takes The Inventor’s Award
The recognition places XERF among the technologies and innovators the DBAs are highlighting for their contributions to the evolving beauty and wellness landscape.
According to Cynosure Lutronic, the award validates the company’s approach to advancing RF technology through a combination of energy delivery, personalization and patient comfort.
“Receiving The Inventor’s Award validates what we set out to do with the XERF treatment: evolve RF technology to combine advanced energy delivery with personalization, patient comfort and convenience,” the company says to MedEsthetics. “We see the future of aesthetics moving toward smarter energy-based technologies that deliver meaningful results while fitting seamlessly into patients’ lives.”
XERF is a multifrequency monopolar radiofrequency system designed for what Cynosure Lutronic calls “Structural Skin Tightening.” The platform combines 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz RF frequencies to deliver energy across shallow, middle and deep tissue layers. According to the company, the system uses Wave Fit pulse technology and Integrated Cryogen Delivery to control energy delivery while cooling the skin’s surface.
Cynosure Lutronic describes XERF as the first monopolar, multifrequency RF treatment, with the platform delivering multiple frequencies in a single treatment. The company says the technology is designed to tighten skin and stimulate collagen production without needles, numbing or downtime.
For providers, that positioning reflects a broader shift toward noninvasive treatments that prioritize both outcomes and the patient experience.
“XERF represents a new category of skin tightening: structural skin tightening,” the company says. “Patients today are seeking effective and personalized non-invasive treatments, and XERF delivers exactly that.”
That emphasis on the patient experience may also help explain why the technology resonated with the Daytime Beauty Awards. Cynosure Lutronic says the recognition reflects growing demand for advanced technologies that deliver natural-looking results without significantly disrupting a patient’s routine.
Finding The Middle Ground
For aesthetic practices, the opportunity may come down to addressing patients who want more noticeable results than topical or lower-intervention options can provide, but aren't ready to pursue surgery.
“Patients don't want to choose between ‘nothing’ and a facelift,” says Jamie Sherrill, LA-based celebrity skin expert and registered nurse known as Nurse Jamie. “XERF finally gives us a real answer in the middle, structural tightening, no needles, no downtime. That's the biggest opportunity in aesthetics right now, and it's the number one thing my patients are asking for.”
As energy-based technologies continue to evolve, XERF’s recognition at the DBAs points to an increasingly competitive space in which providers are seeking technologies that balance efficacy, personalization and patient convenience.
