Galderma announced the acquisition of ZO Skin Health on October 14, 2026.

Galderma will acquire 100% of ZO Skin Health for an enterprise value of 1.5 billion USD in an all-cash transaction, the company reported.

ZO Skin Health, which is a leading physician-dispensed skincare brand built on clinical science and protocol-based daily care, expands Galderma’s Dermatological Skincare portfolio and offering in the attractive, fast-growing physician-dispensed skincare segment.

“This acquisition is another important step towards building the world's most innovative dermatology portfolio, strengthening our offering in an area where we already have significant capabilities," Flemming Ørnskov, M.D., MPH, the Chief Executive Officer of Galderma, said in a press release.

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026 or early 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

“We are proud to have partnered with Dr. Obagi and the ZO Skin Health team during an important period of growth when the company more than doubled its revenue. We thank them for their dedication, and are confident ZO Skin Health is well positioned to continue advancing its mission moving forward together with Galderma,” Shary Moalemzadeh Senior Managing Director of Blackstone said. \

One possible implication of the deal is how medspas will approach their retail strategies as Galderma positions ZO alongside Alastin and Cetaphil. Medspas, for example, may want to reassess which products they carry and how they differentiate each brand. Others may look for ways to connect in-office procedures with at-home skincare regimens, creating opportunities for ongoing retail sales and patient retention. We may even see practices

However, the deal is not yet closed, so its eventual impact on product access, pricing and provider relationships remains to be seen.

For the wellness industry at large, the acquisition reinforces the value of physician-dispensed skincare as more companies look to connect professional treatments with at-home maintenance and ongoing patient care.
