The global medical aesthetics market is projected to grow from $19.5 billion to $40.7 billion from 2025 to 2031, according to a new report from MarketsandMarkets. This growth represents a compound annual growth rate of 13%.

“The global medical aesthetics industry is driven by a significant shift toward outpatient, office-based procedures that offer quicker recovery times, reduced procedural risk and potential for repeat use,” the report states. “Because of their low cost, consistent results and growing range of applications, injectable aesthetics – such as botulinum toxins, dermal fillers and biostimulatory products – continue to make up a sizable portion of procedure volumes. Simultaneously, energy-based esthetic systems like laser, radio frequency, ultrasound and light-based platforms are being widely used, especially for body contouring, fat reduction, skin tightening and skin resurfacing.”

According to the report, the facial aesthetics products segment accounted for the largest market share in 2025, making up 55% of the market. Further, the at-home/self-use device segment is projected to see the highest growth over the forecast period with an estimated CAGR of 22%.

North America is estimated to account for the largest share of the global aesthetics market in 2025. This market is driven by the high penetration rate of medical aesthetic products, premium-priced procedures and growing demand for regenerative aesthetics.

“Medical aesthetic treatments have become a mainstream healthcare service in place of a luxury cosmetic option, and this has been made possible due to stronger safety profiles and increasing acceptance of aesthetic healthcare as a routine self-care and wellness activity in mainstream healthcare,” the report states. “Moreover, the increasing power of social media platforms, along with aging demographics and increasing disposable incomes in emerging markets, has further fueled this growth.”

The report identifies the growing demand for non- and minimally-invasive aesthetic procedures and the rising influence of social media as key drivers for the global medical aesthetics market. Challenges in the market include the high cost of aesthetic treatments and advanced devices and rising medical liability and litigation risks.
