ASPS Hosts Consumer Expo

On Saturday, September 24, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) will host ASPSX—a new expo where consumers can interact with board-certified plastic surgeons, watch live demonstrations and learn about innovative products and services—at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The goal of ASPSX is to give consumers a “peek behind the curtain” of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, and insight into emerging health and beauty products from educators and industry leaders. It will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and highlights will include presentations on new technologies and techniques in breast, body and face surgery, plus demonstrations of facial fillers and injectables. In addition, women considering breast reconstruction after cancer will be able to learn about reconstruction procedures, review options and explore the entire surgical experience. Attendees can speak one-on-one with board certified plastic surgeons, visit dozens of beauty, wellness, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery exhibitors’ booths, and virtually “try on” treatments with New Look Now’s before-and-after Visualizer.

“ASPSX gives consumers insight into how the latest advances in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, as well as innovations in health and beauty products, can help them achieve their desired look and feel,” said David H. Song, MD, MBA, president of the ASPS. “Patient safety is of the utmost importance to a board certified plastic surgeon, and a key component to patient safety is patient education. That’s why the consultations and demonstrations at ASPSX are so valuable to the both the surgeons and the public.”
