More than 15% of India-based The Esthetic Clinics’ patients come from international locations, highlighting the popularity of cosmetic surgery medical tourism in relatively affordable countries. In fact, according to stats from CMQ Hospital, about 14 million people in the world travel to other countries in search of medical care annually. The increasing percentage of patients from outside of India reportedly distinguishes The Esthetic Clinics as a “trusted” choice by education platform MedTalks for advanced cosmetic surgery procedures, according to a Dec. 13 press release.
Headquartered in Mumbai, the Esthetic Clinics operates 10 locations across New Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata. The clinic is led by Cosmetic Dermatologist Rinky Kapoor, MD, and Debraj Shome, MD, FAACS. Shome is reportedly the only American board certified facial cosmetic surgeon in India and serves as the governor of the Indian Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, according to the release.
The Esthetic Clinics offer a range of cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures, including blepharoplasty, hair transplants, eyelid and restoration surgeries; facial plastic surgery for cancer and scars, cosmetic rhinoplasty and laser treatments; non-surgical facelifts, skin laser treatments, weight loss treatments, body and breast contouring surgeries; as well as injectables.
The Esthetic Clinic recently conducted a facial feminization surgery (FFS) on a patient from the U.S., according to the release, who faced prohibitive costs for surgery in America, leading the patient to receive treatment at the Esthetic Clinic in India, where the patient achieved an “affordable” deep plane facelift, abdominal sculpting, liposuction and hairline restoration, per the release.
