Bliss Imagine AI Visualizes Patient Expectations for Surgeon Reference
Michael Salzhauer, MD, known as Dr. Miami, who utilizes the app to connect with patients, says the use of AI to match patient to surgeon personalizes the entire patient journey—before, during and after a procedure.
“AI doesn’t just refine the technical aspects of the procedure—it enhances the whole patient experience, from initial research and surgeon selection to long-term outcome tracking and aftercare instructions,” Salzhauer says.
The Bliss Imagine feature, in particular, conjures a preview of a patient's potential results, Salzhauer says, setting realistic expectations before they invest in consultations. He adds that while Bliss understands the AI visualization cannot mirror a surgeon’s district techniques and levels of expertise, Bliss Imagine is designed to “start a conversation.”
“Patients can bring their imagined results to a consultation, allowing the surgeon to clarify what’s achievable based on their training, aesthetic style and technical skill,” Salzhauer says. “The algorithm provides a visual baseline, and the surgeon, with their experience and artistry, refines and personalizes the final approach.”
He adds that Bliss Imagine allows surgeons to see a tangible reference of what the patient envisions for them to refine surgical steps according to expectations and accomplish desired goals.
Budget and Goals: Matching Patient to Surgeon
The Bliss platform also allows patients to design their profile according to skin conditions, desired aesthetic outcomes and budget parameters, Salzhauer says, and to align their needs with the applicable surgeon who can achieve their vision, within their own individual parameters. Patients will also have the opportunity to fill out a detailed questionnaire to determine their preferences.
“Bliss’ platform leverages … AI capabilities to reduce guesswork and create the type of financial accessible for a wider range of procedures without foregoing the quality of surgeons or results,” Salzhauer says.
On the surgeon profile, Bliss allows professionals to outline their credentials, including board certification, experience, patient reviews, along with a gallery of before and after photos for patients to scour.
Despite whether a patient may have a lower budget, Bliss will display surgeons who meet the “rigorous baseline credibility requirements,” Salzhauer says. Bliss users are able to compare surgeons side-by-side, review their portfolios and see procedure costs to identify a surgeon who meets their standards and budget constraints before consultation, he adds.
“Bliss provides access to a patient’s profile, which includes the patient’s treatment interests, medical history, aesthetic goals and even images of the areas they’d like treated,” Salzhauer says. “This pre-consultation data helps surgeons better understand what the patient hopes to achieve and allows the surgeon to create a personalized treatment plan.”
