Known as a professional organization that represents and supports medspas, promoting industry standards, education and networking for practitioners, the American Med Spa Association is bringing in Adam Reinebach as Chief Executive Officer, effective Nov. 20.
This new appointment marks the first time Amspa is changing CEOs since the organization was founded in 2013 by former CEO, Alex Thiersch. "With the medical aesthetics industry undergoing rapid transformation — from personalized, AI-driven treatment protocols to a surge in minimally invasive options, the role AmSpa serves within this space is more important than ever," said Reinebach.
According to a Nov. 20 press release, before this role Reinebach was Operating Partner for Beringer Capital, a private equity firm, and was previously the CEO of BridgeTower Media, a B2B information company serving the legal, business, construction and home furnishings communities. The release states that as AmSpa transitions under a new CEO, the organization will have five areas of focus:
- Enhanced membership benefits
- Expanded news and insights
- Certification and credentialing programs
- New industry research and education
- Improved user experience across the website and member portal
Thiersch, though he is leaving his role as CEO, is shifting over to Chairman of the Board to focus on policy, advocacy and the industry's next phase of growth and transformation, per the release. He will also represent the association through speaking, writing and hosting AmSpa's weekly podcast series, Medical Spa Insider.
"[Reinebach’s] past success as a CEO and deep knowledge in areas like research, events and marketing will help AmSpa achieve the vision I have for our association and the industry as a whole,” Thiersch said. “This transition will also provide me with much-needed bandwidth to help the industry during this critical stage in our growth."
