DermaCare Wellness and Aesthetics, a wellness center with two locations in Waldorf, Maryland, and Arlington, Virginia has launched Aiye, a medical-grade skincare collection rooted in cultural traditions. The woman behind the center’s debut line is Rhoda Ndamukong, DNP, a trained cosmetic injector.
Though Aiye was formulated with skin properties backed by science, the line was inspired by Ndamukong’s grandmother and her legacy of grace and ritual, per a Sept. 10 press release. Skin care and other wellness rituals is long seen in many cultures as an ongoing, continuous custom grounded in nurturing the self rather than a quick fix to imperfections, and Aiye follows in these footsteps.
"Aiye is both my grandmother's legacy of grace and ritual, and my own promise to women who deserve to feel confident in their skin," Ndamukong shared.
Per the release, Ndamukong took on the initiative to create this line as a respected injector in the district of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia metropolitan area. Within the line, Ndamukong has produced a cleanser, day-time cream, night-time body lotion and brightening treatment pads containing alpha arbutin, vitamin C and botanical extracts, per the brand's site.
With DermaCare’s returning clientele in mind for this launch, the line was born out of the two location’s, led by Ndamukong, clinical practice and their patient’s specific needs. The products aim to target discoloration, texture, acne and age-related concerns to empower women of all skin types.
"I struggled with discoloration and acne, which gave me first-hand empathy for women navigating skin challenges," Ndamukong said.
