Using focused ultrasound, Ultherapy stimulates collagen and elastin for lasting results without downtime, suitable for all skin types.Courtesy of Merz AestheticsUsing focused ultrasound energy to target deeper layers of the skin, Ultherapy stimulates the body's collagen and elastin production. Up until Nov. 5, the device has been used in practices to lift the brows, the skin under the chin and on the neck, as well as smooth lines and wrinkles on the décolleté. Under this recent clearance, Ultherapy will be applied for firming and toning the skin on the arms and abdomen.
The expectations, per a Nov. 5 press release, will be similar to its implications for face and neck; tightening the body will entail no downtime and is safe for all skin types. According to the release, results can last up to a year for the face and up to six months for the arms and abdomen.
“Building on last year’s successful U.S. Ultherapy Prime launch, we are extending this trusted, proven technology to address a gap in the market and meet customer and patient needs. With these new body indications, providers now have an advanced and trusted device to address the root cause of skin laxity and helpachievepersonalized firming in the arms and abdomen,” said Patrick Urban, president of Merz Aesthetics North America.
