Following news that facial procedures are projected to increase a reported 19 percent this year by AAFPRS in February, new data released from Guidepoint Qsight on March 10, confirms the demand for surgical aesthetics, specifically how the growth is being driven by facial and breast procedures.
The new data also reveals distinct regional plastic surgery hotspots across the U.S,. which is especially helpful in that it gives insight to aesthetic preferences and show how procedure demand can vary by geography.

South: Body-focused
- Tummy tucks comprise 13.2% of total surgical spend in the South, compared to 9.8% nationally
- Breast surgery accounts for 35.8% of surgical spend in the South, compared to 26.4% nationally
Northeast: Facials
- Facial surgery overall makes up 60.1% of total surgical spend in the Northeast, compared to 42.4% nationally.
West: Rhinoplasty
- The West follows the national average pretty closely among core procedures
- Liposuction, rhinoplasty (nose surgery), and eyelid surgery are widely performed at similar rates nationwide
