On February 27, 2026, FDA and Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. (RFK, Jr.) announced a proposed deregulation of i 14 of the 19 peptides placed on an FDA “do not formulate” list in 2023 while on an episode of Joe Rogan's podcast.

"The FDA ... I think within a couple of weeks, we will have announced some kind of new action," Kennedy said. "They're still looking at the science [but] my hope is that they're going to get moved to a place where people have access from ethical suppliers."

It's a change of heart for the FDA, who previously put restrictions on compounding pharmacies from producing the anti-aging supplement. Now under regulatory review, the change would mean licensed compounding pharmacies throughout the U.S. could legally prepare peptides for patients holding valid prescriptions, reopening access to compounds that have become increasingly popular in the aesthetic wellness industry.

This moment represents more than a regulatory shift for healthcare operators, investors, and clinicians interested in wellness and longevity services. It signals a significant pivot to how  preventive medicine, metabolic health, and emerging therapies are reshaping the industry.
