Skincare company Obagi and actor, producer and activist Priyanka Chopra Jonas will lead a panel of top dermatologists in a discussion about the importance of diversity and inclusion in medical aesthetics on October 24 in Chicago during the annual meeting of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS). The panel, entitled “Be the Change: Discussing Diversity, Inclusion & Medical Aesthetics,” will include Jeanine Downie, MD, FAA, Annie Chiu, MD, Jose Raul Montes, MD, MD, FACS, FACCS and Suzan Obagi, MD.

“Thousands of skincare experts and the world’s pioneers in cosmetic and medical aesthetics attend the annual ASDS meeting, so this is the ideal forum to raise critical issues and drive meaningful conversations about how best to meet the needs of physicians and patients of all skin tones,” said Jaime Castle, president of Obagi and member of CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, a CEO-driven business alliance established to elevate diversity and inclusion in the workplace. “The insights gleaned from our expert panelists will help us continue to advance conversations around diversity and inclusion that we started with the launch of our SKINCLUSION campaign.”

SKINCLUSION ambassador, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, has been dedicated to fighting for inclusion and diversity over the course of her 20-year career. “As a woman of color, this initiative is personal to me. However, we all have a responsibility to have important conversations around diversity and inclusion and to work towards recognizing our own unconscious biases, specifically surrounding skin tone,” said Priyanka. “I look forward to joining some of the world’s foremost skin experts and pioneers in skincare at ASDS to discuss how we can continue to be the change we want to see in the world.”

The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, on Thursday, October 24 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
