1. To heal my own inner child. 2. To help level up the hair industry. Times and textures are changing. So many guests want to wear their natural texture, and I want to make sure us stylists have every opportunity to not only keep up but provide a safe space for all guests.
3. To spark change in my own community. I provide guests with the tools needed to feel like their hair is less of a burden and more of themselves and their self expression.
4. A creative outlet. It gives me the creativity to use visual techniques to create structure and shape and allows me to truly feel like an artist.
5. My own life experience. I transitioned my hair in 2017 and learned as I went. Through different brands as well as trial and error, I was able to ge to the place I am now where I love my hair and the confidence and uniqueness it gives me. I can truly identify all of the insecurities and difficulties but also beauty that comes from truly accepting yourself.
