May 16th, 2022
Mydentity

Every May, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month is celebrated in the United States to honor the generations of Asian and Pacific Islanders' contributions and influences on the country's history.

This month, we wanted to lift up AAPI hairstylists who are leaving their mark on the professional hair community. From creating show-stopping red carpet looks to vibrant hair color products, these are just a few Asian beauty pros who deserve recognition.

Jenny Cho

Celebrity hairstylist Jenny Cho has an impressive roster of clientele, including Jennifer Lawrence, Sandra Oh, Jennifer Garner and HoYeon Jung. She also is a member of R+Co's Collective, where she works with the hair care brand on product development, content creation and education.

Anh Co Tran

Los Angeles-based hairstylist Anh Co Tran has worked with seemingly all of Tinseltown. His celebrity clientele comprises Gwyneth Paltro, Selma Blair, Lily Collins, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Alba, among many others. In addition, he is the global creative director of Milbon, and heads up the brand Lived in Hair as well the Curated Cutting academy.

Guy Tang

When the hair educator, stylist, musician and Beauty Launchpad January/February cover artist isn't making music, Guy Tang is heading up his hair color brand @Guy_Tang #MyDentity. Boasting 2.2 million Instagram followers, the pro curates a welcoming community while showing off amazing color creations.

SeungHyun Suh

K-Pop is responsible for catchy dance beats and some great heads of hair. The latter is achieved at the capable hands of SeungHyun Suh, who has worked with Korean girl group the Wonder Girls and Jay Park. Originally from Seoul, she now lives in New York City and has a salon in Koreatown.
