Groundbreaking Menopause-Focused Hair Loss Clinical Trial Results

43 menopausal-aged women experiencing androgenic alopecia underwent a four-month phase II clinical trial evaluating KilgourMD’s treatment serum. The results found regrowth and reduced shedding in a short period of time alongside validated reductions in hair shedding: By day 120, 53% of participants achieved at least a half-grade improvement while 26% showed a full one-grade improvement. Alopecia and female pattern hair loss have a strong association to postmenopausal health, studies have shown. The dermatologist-founded scalp health and hair growth brand’s founder & CEO, Dr. James Kilgour, says that is why testing solutions should be designed specifically for that population. Full results are currently undergoing peer review and are expected to be published later this year but the company is hoping it’s a meaningful step forward in how menopausal hair loss is treated.

Laser that enhances

One of the most challenging complications in outpatient care is burn wound infections. Aude Perusseau-Lambert, MD, MSc, PGCert MedEd, MRCS(Ed) introduces painless laser treatment that uses a non-antibiotic strategy to reduce the amount of bacteria in burn wounds. By combining antimicrobial effects with stimulation of tissue repair pathways, the laser safely reduce the bacterial load while stimulating and enhancing the body’s own repair mechanisms. While it is is laser procedure, there’s no additional clinic time or protocol change. The study represents the evolution of light-based therapy and a chance to impact healing speed for the industry as a whole.
