The NouvaDerm laser contains 120 mJ energy output to support a 30 mm spot size, enabling treatments for the face and body, says Marina Kamenakis, vice president of marketing for AMP.
To create the full body laser, AMP partnered with Wontech, a manufacturer of medical aesthetic lasers and energy-based equipment with a presence in Japan, South Korea and China. AMP’s distribution of the NouvaDerm Laser leverages them in the North America market to reach practitioners and make high-performance technology more accessible in the U.S., says Kamenakis.
“By combining power, speed and treatment versatility, the NouvaDerm laser is an all-in-one solution for addressing these common aesthetic concerns, offering patients effective, results-driven solutions with minimal downtime,” Kamenakis says.
There are seven skin concerns the laser targets, she says, including skin rejuvenation for texture and tone, pigmentation and acne scars; stretch marks and skin laxity; enlarged pores and body treatments targeting the back, arms and leg areas. Courtesy of Aesthetic Management Partners
The typical treatment protocol for the NouvaDerm total body restoration laser depends on the patient’s needs, Kamenakis adds.
Depending on the treatment area and the skin concerns being addressed, Kamenakis says each session typically lasts between 15 and 45 minutes. The 30mm spot size and high energy output allow for faster treatments, including larger areas of the body.
“For general skin rejuvenation, one to three sessions may be sufficient to achieve noticeable improvements,” Kamenakis says.
The laser allows practitioners to tailor individual patient needs based on the skin type, concern and desired outcome, she says. The fractional ablative, subablative and non-ablative modes allow the adjustment of intensity and treatment depth.
“With non-ablative treatments, patients can return to work within a few days, where more aggressive ablative treatments can have a recovery time for 7-10 days,” Kamenakis says.
Recovery time varies depending on the mode used. Non-ablative treatments typically have minimal downtime with 1-2 days of mild redness, while fractional ablative treatments may require a few days of recovery with some peeling and redness, Kamenakis adds.
