There's no shortage of information on the procedures, treatments, and medical devices used to achieve the aesthetic goals that have kept the industry booming. The recovery process, however, is just as important as the technological advances that make those treatments possible.
From pre-treatment prep and post-treatment care to recovery boosters and topicals designed to support the skin barrier, there's a lot to consider when it comes to how patients should prepare for and recover from aesthetic procedures. It's a conversation that should be continually practiced.

Medspas, for example, have begun integrating peptides into post-treatment recovery protocols to promote wound healing, reduce inflammation, and support the skin barrier after treatments such as microneedling [1]. And that's not to mention pre-op nutrition strategies like leafy greens or recovery trends like cold plunging and red light therapy to help with inflammation.
Medspa owners and aesthetic professionals who are serious about owning the entire patient journey should be just as invested in what happens after the procedure. Thoughtful post-care can build client trust, and recovery protocols and products create opportunities to expand retail and grow the business.
October's issue takes a deep dive into the post-procedural side of medical aesthetics, with expert insight on everything from downtime rituals, emerging trends, and natural approaches to recovery to the products that pair best with microneedling and the pre-treatment routines that can help set patients up for better outcomes.
