2026 is already blurring past us, and as we all slowly emerge from hibernation, it's tempting to see what exciting things await us once we all thaw out. So, what sorts of things will be catching our eye as we move into the warm months?
1. Custom light therapy devices
While LED therapy is only getting better in 2026, with devices adopting 1072nm lasers for deeper penetration and more precision, the industry has spoken, and perusing devices isn't cutting it anymore. Private label care is the latest in business strategies, marrying the remediation of product-need gaps with marketing through a memorable, curated brand experience, and now devices may follow suit. For those frustrated with the array of devices on the market, some have turned to working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) that are tailored to their needs, with customizable wavelengths, diode count and designs. Personalization isn't reserved for clients!

2. Consumers are feeling chatty.
Conversational commerce is the latest in automated shopping tools. While AI is being increasingly integrated into shopping experiences to analyze purchase history and goals, compiling targeted recommendations, we're graduating past typing in prompts or feeding in data manually (I mean, what are we, pilgrims?) and using AI-powered voice assistants to more conveniently obtain these specialized suggestions. Look, ma; no hands!

3. "Most skin care doesn't work."
A common, but troubling, misconception that's being echoed by frustrated consumers everywhere. While this doesn't have a specific brand or product tied to it, this is still definitely on our radar. Educating clients not just in ingredients and products, but in what a reasonable timeline looks like for their goals, the dangers of overtreating skin and how they can verify certain claims like "clean" and "natural" can go a long way in restoring skin care's good name.
4. I-beauty is going global(er).
The latest in Asian beauty to come to our neck of the woods, Indian beauty further centers holistic wellness in the broader beauty conversation while adding its specific cultural flair. "Desi hacks" are going to help traditional, natural ingredients like ghee spike in popularity. In makeup, we'll be seeing bold, expressive uses of color; blush will become a major tool for giving faces a more lifted, sculpted appearance and foundation tones will move to become more inclusive of darker skin types.

5. Back to the barrier basics.
Now that they know about the barrier, they're never letting it go. Consumers will be trying to take the simplest route to barrier health, which means going back to the ingredients foundational to it. Make sure your business is well stocked with ceramides, peptides, glycerin and squalene.
