I will be the first to admit that I am not an expert when it comes to medical aesthetics. I’ve learned a lot over my time as an editor at Allured, but it’s still a very new field for me. As I take my first steps into this arena, I’m constantly reading and learning about the latest technologies and innovations, discovering what our readers are using to make their jobs easier.

When preparing this month’s issue, I noticed a general theme of patient education and awareness. Practitioners are making sure their patients are well-informed and that they understand the procedure and follow-up. Even in the context of an AI concierge to help with booking and follow-up, the goal is always to get to the core of the patient’s concern.

A well-informed customer is a business’ best asset. They aren’t going to come back if they feel lost in the dark about their treatment. This month’s issue shows the importance of informing the customer about their procedures and ensuring clarity and trust between patient and physician.

We also dive into some of the biggest trends in aesthetics for the upcoming year. From regenerative approaches to supplements to rehabilitative care, consumers are seeking a kind of “inside-out” beauty. 2026 is about personalization and enhancing one’s natural features, focusing on small tweaks rather than dramatic changes. And these trends also extend to follow-up and after-care, ensuring that patients nurture their results to make them last as long as possible.

My goal in every magazine is to give practitioners something that will help them do their job and enhance their skillset. The March issue has so many little nuggets of wisdom and insight, and I've already learned so much. This industry is rife with experts, ready to share their knowledge.

I think it will be fascinating to see how these trends evolve over the coming year, and I think the well-informed patient will remain central to innovation.
