Within RealSelf’s Real Talk Report, released on Feb. 25, are five key trends aesthetic practitioners and plastic surgeons can anticipate specifically for the spring season as summer approaches.
The Real Talk Report combines data from millions of consumer searches on RealSelf with in-office insights from 17 plastic surgeons and dermatologists practicing in the U.S.
The Rise of Restorative Treatments and Hybrid Techniques in Aesthetic Medicine
Goretti Ho Taghva, MD, says patients have shown more interest in skin quality and longevity over relying on fillers and neurotoxins. As patients seek more natural solutions for radiant skin, the report says a growing number of practices have begun offering restorative treatments such as PRF, exosomes and PDRN, particularly in combination with microneedling. H. William Song, MD, has seen renewed interest in classic treatments like the vampire facelift, combining fillers with PRP. The vampire facelift name is in inspiration of the modern vampire: “sexy and forever youthful, obtaining power from the blood,” Song says.
The process of a vampire facelift involves combining hyaluronic acid with PRP, using a small amount of filler and strategically laying it down to act as a “scaffold,” exactly where the surgeon intends for the extra volume to form.
“We then place the PRP on top of it to signal natural collagen to form around the filler, kind of like the way a coral reef forms around a sunken ship,” Song says. “Because it is the patient’s own collagen, and the body knows not to make too much, we get a very natural looking volumization that lasts longer than the filler by itself.”
He says instead of surgically stretching unhealthy skin or “stuffing it” with artificial fillers to smooth out the wrinkles, regenerating a patient’s own collagen has immediate effects, and results continue over time as the collagen and new blood supply forms to create healthier skin.
Surge in Popularity for Blepharoplasty: Men and Women Turning to Subtle, Long-Lasting Eye Enhancements
RealSelf projects upper and lower blepharoplasty demand to grow in spring, specifically among men, demonstrating a 324% year-over-year increase, as the most-searched procedure on RealSelf in 2025 thus far.
Dilip Madnani, MD, FACS, says men are increasingly seeking blepharoplasty because “the aging Hollywood and sports stars of our generation don't seem to be aging as much as the other generations, so the secret’s out that small surgical tweaks can improve appearance without going all out with big changes.”
The report states that upper blepharoplasty will be popular among women who are “mindful” of evolving makeup trends that emphasize a defined eyelid contour. For those interested in correcting lower eyelid hollowness or bags, Madnani predicts more people favoring permanent results achieved with surgery than use of fillers.
Spring's Facial Rejuvenation Surge: The Rise of Combined Lift Procedures for Natural, Long-Lasting Results
RealSelf reports facial rejuvenation to be one of the “biggest” trends for spring, as more people seek out deep plane facelifts or mini lifts, particularly combining them with complementary procedures such as lip lifts, fat transfer and chin liposuction to sculpt and rejuvenate the entire face and neck.
Shahram Salemy, MD says she believes patients are having combined facial procedures to achieve results that appear more harmonious and even synergistic when combined with a facelift.
“For example, in many cases the results of upper eyelid surgery combined with a brow lift create a more balanced, youthful appearance than either alone,” Salemy says. “In addition, patients prefer a single procedure and single recovery versus multiple procedures, if at all possible.”
RealSelf reports that patients realize that modern facelift techniques look more natural than fillers, with far more longevity. Salemy says the trend away from fillers may be tied into patients wanting results that can be more predictable in the long term.
“In most cases, we know how facelifts and fat transfers tend to behave in the long term, but the long term results of fillers may be less predictable,” Salemy says. “I think patients can get nice results with either, but it takes a conversation with your surgeon to determine what is going to work best to meet your goals.”Plastic surgeons say tummy tucks, body lifts, brachioplasties, thigh lifts and full mommy makeovers are anticipated as the weather becomes warmer.Anatoly Repin
Rising Demand for Tummy Tucks, Lifts, and Makeovers as Summer Nears
Body contouring procedures become more sought out in the spring as summer approaches. Per the report, plastic surgeons say tummy tucks, body lifts, brachioplasties, thigh lifts and full mommy makeovers are anticipated as the weather becomes warmer.
Suzette Miranda, MD, points to GLP-1s driving the demand for surgical body contouring, as more patients experience excess skin following rapid weight loss.
Downsized Breasts and 'Internal Bras' for Enhanced Support and Proportionate Shape
Downsized breasts and “internal bras” will also be a common patient request this spring, RealSelf reports, as patients look for enhanced support and comfort, lower implant complications and perkier, more proportionate shaped breasts.
Urmen Desai, MD, says the desire to downsize reflects celebrity-driven trends and an increased focus on fitness, wellness and long-term health.
